Bass player / Film composer / Music supervisor

Beckmann is co-founder of the RAINBIRDS, had two No.1 albums with the band and a Europe-wide single hit (Blueprint). Afterwards he founded DEPP JONES with Bela B. and Rodrigo Gonzales of the Die Ärzte DEPP JONES, who were one of the first crossover bands in Germany.

He has worked as a music producer and composer since 1992. With music productions for Extrabreit, Keimzeit

and Chris Norman, he has celebrated chart successes.

Since 2000, Beckmann has worked as an executive producer and music consultant on numerous film and television projects and is responsible for many film scores as a composer. He has written music for the television series "Charlotte Roche trifft........" (Pro 7), produced the comeback show winning album "Break Away" by Chris Norman (Smokie) and wrote music for commercials by BMW, C&A or Jim Beam.

From 2005 to 2016 he was co-owner of CINESONG and has worked as music supervisor on over 180 films. Highlights include his collaborations with Oscar-nominated directors Wim Wenders and Marc Rothemund as well as and Oscar-winner Volker Schlöndorff.

Beckmann has written the scores for numerous feature films, TV movies and documentaries. Best known are his film scores for the blockbusters "Türkisch für Anfänger" and the films of the "Fack ju Göhte" series.

His current works include award-winning series such as "Dschermeni" (ZDF/Kika), the two Wendy films or the

"Meine Mutter...." - DEGETO series. In 2018, the first part "Meine Mutter ist unmöglich" was the most successful Friday film on ARD.

He is a member of the German Film Academy, the Guild of Music Supervisors and DEFCOM, plays with Plan B, Die Suurbiers, BerlinskiBeat, Robert Gläser and the Akademix...
